Old mulch has a way of making an otherwise great-looking yard feel tired. It fades, breaks down, and starts to look more like dirt than anything else. That's exactly what we were working with here - beds that had seen better days and needed a fresh start, not just a quick fix.

We pulled everything out and started clean. The beds got fully cleared and edged before we laid down fresh river rock throughout. That metal edging you can see running along the bed borders isn't just for looks - it keeps the rock in place and gives the lawn a clean, defined line to grow up against. That detail alone cuts down a lot of the maintenance headaches that come with traditional mulch beds.

River rock is one of those upgrades that just makes sense for a lot of homeowners. It doesn't break down, it doesn't wash away in heavy rain, and it holds its look season after season. You're not out there every spring refreshing it. For a property like this one - with beds wrapping around the front porch and out into the yard around a large tree - that low-maintenance factor is a real win.

The front porch bed and the yard island both got the same treatment. Clean edging, rock installed tight and even, plants left looking healthy and well-framed. The contrast between the bright river rock and the green lawn gives the whole property a polished, intentional look. It's the kind of thing you notice right away - and so do your neighbors.

We handle rock bed installation as part of our broader landscape services, along with mowing, trimming, and edging. If your beds are looking rough and you're tired of the mulch routine, this kind of upgrade is worth a serious look.
